About Najim
In 1981 the afghan television discovered a singer called Najim, who was young, good looking, malleable and above all, he had a good voice. He started his career with a Farsi song ABI BAQA KUJA that was a phenomenal success.

Najim's plus point against the contemporaries is the knowledge and use of the classical music which in turn have helped in molding his voice to its present com munificent manner. Najim's true inspiration in classical and ghazal singing is USTAD SARAHANG. The best part about Najim's music is the combination of four languages Farsi, Pushto, Urdu and Punjabi in which he is still unbeatable.

Najim can sing any type of song. Let it be Classical, Pop, Qawali, Ghazal, Romantic, Light music and slow numbers. Najim's favorite still remains Ghazals which he enjoys singing the most. He believes that the most important thing about a Ghazal is the mood it weaves with the help of sensitive lyrics.

Like other ghazal singer's Najim is blessed with a haunting melodious voice and tremendous laya control, which I witnessed at one of the latest concerts on Najim in London.

There are not many contemporary singers in the afghan community who can assign true musical portrayal to each couplet as effortlessly as Najim can. He is musically gifted and is highly skillful in filmi songs from the Indian industry so called BOLLYWOOD.

His versatility is very different and way too impressive. One thing, which I loved about Najim's singing, is that he does not imitate anyone nor does he stop anybody from imitating him.

Najim has composed numerous ghazals and geets. Najim as a composer always believes in complete creative freedom. These are some of the songs Najim composed...read more
